What these videos are for
- These videos provide general fitness and wellbeing guidance for people living with Parkinson's.
- They are not medical advice and do not provide a medical diagnosis or treatment.
- They are not a substitute for guidance from your GP, neurologist, physiotherapist, or healthcare team.
- These videos are not individually tailored to your health, symptoms or personal circumstances.
Important information about Parkinson’s
Parkinson’s affects everyone differently, and symptoms can change from day to day.
This means that not every exercise will be suitable for everyone, all of the time.
Because Parkinson’s can affect movement, balance and blood pressure, some exercises may involve a higher level of risk than for people without the condition. This may include:
- Balance difficulties
- Freezing of movement
- Dizziness or feeling light-headed
- Falls
Please listen to your body and choose only exercises that feel safe and appropriate for you.
Exercising Safely
These videos are pre-recorded and are not supervised in real time.
You should:
- Move at your own pace and work within your limits
- Modify or skip any exercise that does not feel safe
- Avoid any movements that you do not feel able to perform safely
- Make sure your exercise area is clear of obstacles, rugs, and hazards before you begin
Some people choose to exercise barefoot. Only do so if it feels appropriate and safe for you, and if your environment allows you to do so safely.
